Job Description
As Manager - Metaverse Marketing, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of metaverse/web3 marketing for DICK’S Sporting Goods and our portfolio of brands. You’ll work closely with the VP, Media & Loyalty to develop the metaverse strategy and vision, and gain alignment with the Marketing Leadership Team. This role will help shape athlete relationships with DICK’S Sporting Goods by developing and executing innovative experiences that leverage advancements in digital marketing and the metaverse. The successful candidate will bring to the role creativity, an entrepreneurial spirit, and an ability to think strategically about how the metaverse can play a significant role with DICK’S Sporting Goods.
The Manager - Metaverse Marketing role will work both independently and cross-functionally, building relationships with key stakeholders across a variety of functions including eCommerce, Technology, Merchandising, and Store Operations.
Strategy & Vision
- Define the strategic marketing opportunity for DICK’S Sporting Goods in the metaverse, working cross-functionally as needed to understand business needs and opportunities
- Develop, maintain and execute a metaverse road map that ladders back to the strategy
- Continually evaluate the strategy’s effectiveness and recommend adjustments as necessary
Marketplace Intelligence
- Act as the in-house marketing expert on all things “metaverse” and marketing innovation
- Analyze and aggregate how other retailers and brands are activating in the space
- Develop relationships with peers in the industry to understand wins/successes
- Research new technology trends to build insights / recommendations on future opportunities
- Synthesize findings to present to senior leadership and organizational stakeholders as necessary
Partnership Development & Management
- Identify, interview and create new client/vendor relationships with technology suppliers, marketing agencies and experts in this space
- On-board external vendors, negotiate fees and determine scope of work as necessary
- Work with Legal, Procurement and Finance teams to review contracts and ensure timely payments
- Manage day-to-day relationship with external partners and ensure all deliverables are met
Project Management
- Manage all in-flight metaverse projects and ensure deliverables and deadlines are met
- Collaborate with cross functional teammates to ensure dependencies are enabled
- Ensure all projects operate within budget
- Set KPI’s and evaluate effectiveness for each metaverse activation
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
3 - 5 years' experience in Strategy, Brand Management, Marketing Activations, Technology, Innovation, Consulting, Digital Media, Gaming, Augmented Reality, or Virtual Reality
Knowledge of marketing trends and emerging opportunities like AR, VR, crypto, NFTs, etc.
