Summary of Position

Neural is looking for an individual with strong technical skills that can work with limited oversight as a blockchain engineer. We will look to you to provide your expertise in building and maintaining scalable software that interacts with smart contracts that is the backbone for current and future business objectives. You will be provided the opportunity to use your knowledge in new and challenging ways; working with architecture, application development and operations to help achieve a state-of-the-art environment.

As part of the Blockchain team, you will be responsible for building on a production-grade L2 blockchain. You will work on initiatives from performance, reliability, scalability, and decentralization. These projects will have an emphasis on quality, safety, and interoperability with other tools.

This a full-time, remote position.

Role and Responsibilities

• Design core, backend software components, and code primarily using Solidity that support a blockchain and its ecosystem of systems
• Use extensive experience to build, test, debug, and deploy large-scale decentralized systems across nodes
• Work with file systems, execution engines, programming language design, and consensus protocols to complete complex engineering challenges such as scaling up performance and reducing transaction latency

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience developing production quality software in Java, C++, or equivalent object-oriented languages
• 2+ years of experience building and releasing production grade Solidity contracts
• Strong understanding of the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine), L2s, and the DeFi/Web3 ecosystem
• Prior experience deploying complex smart contract systems to the Ethereum/Polygon mainnet
• Proficient in basic cryptography concepts
• Experience with one or more cloud platforms, including AWS, GCP, Azure and/or Kubernetes
