Arqit is seeking experienced and passionate blockchain/web3 developers to join our digital assets group within the innovation team. As a Blockchain Developer, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting quantum-secure blockchain projects, and contribute to designing new architectures and algorithms from the ground up. This is a rapidly expanding team, so you'll have the chance to influence the future success of the projects, team, and company.

About You

As an experienced blockchain developer, you are no stranger to Solidity smart-contract development and testing, as well as solid full-stack experience with NodeJS. It's imperative that you are passionate about blockchain technology and want to be a part of bringing it into the mainstream. You are also interested in cryptography, and how we could use it to protect blockchain technology from the incoming quantum-threat.

You're a fast learner who can innovate and think creatively to solve the complex puzzles that come up in this space. You're a self motivated builder who can take ownership of a project without being asked too, but you are also a team player who can work well with others, either at the whiteboard or when programming. It's important you are comfortable demonstrating and presenting your work to the wider company as well as clients.

What you'll be doing

• Designing new blockchain protocols and cryptographic use cases for quantum-safety on Ethereum
• Implementing and testing these protocols using Solidity with Foundry and Hardhat
• Building back-end blockchain applications with NodeJS
• Frontend development when necessary (ReactJS)
• Deploying, running and maintaining live Ethereum nodes
• Cloud infrastructure set-up and management (AWS)
• Demonstrating and presenting your work to others in the company as well as consultants and clients
   

Criteria

• BSc/MSc/BEng/MEng or equivalent in Computer Science, Maths, Physics or a related numeric field
• Commercial experience developing complex mission-critical enterprise software
• >1-2 years commercial experience of developing on public or private blockchains
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
• Strong demonstrable blockchain development experience with Solidity or client development
• Strong NodeJS backend experience
• Javascript/Typescript front-end experience, ideally ReactJS
• Devops experience Docker and with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS
• Experience or interest in learning about cryptography used in blockchain and quantum-security
• Ability to work in the UK now and the ability to gain UK security clearance are both ESSENTIAL
• Low level programming experience (EVM Assembly, Golang, Rust, C/C++)
• Deep knowledge of Ethers.js Foundry, Hardhat, Geth
• Development and maintenance of production-grade APIs
• Experience with IPFS, the Graph, Dune Analytics
• Experience working with SQL, GraphQL or influxDB
• Experience with unit testing
• Experience with automated workflows (git actions)
